I think they're the biggest loser in every situation they're in. Your N father has taken your daughter so you have lost her, temporarily. But he will never know what its like to be loved by his kids. He'll never know what its like to love his kids. Behind his facade he is a tormented, lonely, pathetic, loser who decades ago lost the only things that matter, and he'll never get them back.
And as a Christian I also believe his losing has not really even begun yet. Nor does he have any idea just how much he lost when he started down the path of living as an emotional parasite.

I hope I don't sound contentious, just trying to put their 'winning' in perspective.

MIGHT THAT SUFFICE FOR NOW

Hi Contentious,

Let me first apologize for going off on you yesterday. You pushed a couple of buttons of mine. Forgive me for calling you names.

And let me add that you are correct that Ns can be changed if God so chooses. It would have been better had I said it is unlikely that an N will change and that the vast majority do not. I believe that is fairly well accepted fact concerning people with NPD, is it not?
So you are correct, I should not have generalized that all Ns are doomed to the eternal consequences of their disorder. I do however believe unequivocally the vast majority are, just as the vast majority of rich young rulers are.

I am unable to understand what is inconsistent in CS Lewis's definition of love and my description of Ns in the referenced post. I do not find joy in the eternal fate of Ns, only sorrow. Nor do I hate them. I love them in precisely the way Lewis described, and that is perfectly consistent with what I said in my post. Christian love does not require us to pretend black is white does it?
Perhaps if you had asked me to explain myself rather than taking it upon yourself to 'drive out' someone from this board who you did not feel had sufficiently Christian motives we could have had a productive conversation.
I hope you will accept my apology for my part in the unfortunate incident yesterday.

i am not so sure what referenced post in particular is being references
..if it be the thread that was deleted ... i am not so sure you
could reference it ... but i with my total recall under self hypnosis
will see what i can do

to some degree i am suspicious
of some types of offers of apologies
tho the offerer might feel sincere
i often wonder if it is part of a tactic
and oh oh so confusing what to do
under such circumstances
esp if it is someone whose buttons
might be easily pushed...

perhaps upon a thread far far away
yet nigh at hand such issues
of such possible tactics might be discussed
