Does your N have a comedy counterpart?
« on: June 02, 2006, 05:15:20 PM »
Sometimes when one of the N's in my life is acting up, they really remind me of comedy figures, they are so outrageous.  My brother, for example is a perfect Basil Fawlty (Fawlty Towers) but more extreme, and my mother, (if you know the british comedy show Absolutely Fabulous) is Edina down to a tee.  Even my partner has his moments, when he can become Oliver Hardy!  I apologise if this may come across as disrespectful, and for that reason I have never disclosed this to anyone, but on balance I think its probably healthier to be able to see the ridiculous side of narcissism than to allow ourselves to be crushed by it.

I just had an interesting thought...Jodi-N's voice reminded me of Patty Mayonaise on the Disney tv show, "Doug" or Angelica on the Rugrats show from Nickolodeon.  Besides that, she just reminded me of a spolied 6 yr old child, like most N's do.  My daughter says she also reminds her of the rich, spoiled girl on "The Sweet Life of Zack and Cody" named London.  I also think she reminds me of Fran from a show called "Living with Fran" or Rosanne Barr and Rhett Butler on "Grace  Under Fire"  or even Rebecca on the soap opera, "Passions."

The biggest thing in common with all these characters is that they say things that are TACTLESS, CRUEL, THOUGHTLESS...just things where you say, "Did I really hear her say THAT?  Wait a minute....I just told her "I'm sorry if I'm bothering you" and she replied with "yeah you are but what do you want anyway?"
