Sugarre, I wish you could hear my tone, so you'd know I'm not being smartalecky or sarcastic here... but I wonder whether you're offended at the message itself or more upset with the person who placed it? I was a bit shocked to see this posting myself, but in light of my beliefs, I could not simply ignore it. I also realize that I personally would not have posted such a direct statement of faith here on this board, and I have to wonder why? Others post info on various belief systems, meditation techniques, the teachings of  favored psych and religious gurus, Oprah  ....  OK, I really do know why I didn't post such a message here. I would not want to deliberately offend people who don't share my beliefs. I guess I viewed it as a matter of etiquette to not be so "in your face" about a topic that is known to carry with it such deep-seated feelings and controversy. On the other hand, folks here are pretty "in your face" about numerous other controversial topics... so now I'm wondering, what's the difference? One thing I know for sure is that if it's a choice between possibly offending someone and confessing that Jesus is Lord, there's no contest. Just wanted to say that I do understand and appreciate how this might make others feel. Besides, the thread title is clear... if somebody doesn't want to read the content, they can choose to skip over it. I think I'll quit while I'm ahead here  :?  Hope you have a wonderful evening.

Hi  I have studied so many different faiths and have recently come back to the Bible .
I did share this recently with Laura after she pmed me first, I do believe possibly when I PMed RM that I was studying the Bible  just maybe Laura posted this after .
I could see how it would look like a pattern but in this case I do not think so.
Much Love
Moon
I believe Laura  shared this for support and just that only .
I hope not to cause duress.

Oh, Moon, that's so cool!  :D   Makes sense to me that maybe your talks with RM inspired her to post this. I'm so glad to hear about it... thank you!

Sugarre, Thank you for responding, too. All I can say is, I dunno. Yes, I can see the patterns, but... I dunno. I do know that for me, it had better always be about Jesus, or I'm on the road to trouble. Part of that is to put the best construction on everything, which I don't always remember to do and then... look out. I've given the Amen on this one, so if it comes up again, I won't feel compelled to reply. Seems it's best if I speak of God, faith, and such, only as the Holy Spirit leads in ordinary conversation, not in response to something like this. Thanks again for explaining.

Hope ,Laura and I started about the same time on the board and she was giving me tips on the way I space my sentences nothing to do with Faith.

It was then that I told RM in passing about my Bible studies .

So I see how it could be thought RM was doing a pattern thing but I believe it was because of our  pm.

p.s   I will try not to bring up the subject of Faith I do not wish to cause offense.

I see nothing in RM's post that is not accepted, orthodox Christianity as espoused and practiced by believers for two thousand years. And it is a list of things Christ has done for her not a list of her own accomplishments.

What's the prob?

Fair enough, whatever your beileifs they are just as valid as anyone else's. I regard myself as agnostic but have always envied the strength which religious people draw from their faith. It's something I wish I had.
In fact I live my life by many of tenants of the bible, or at least I try.
One I really like, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." In other words, keep an open mind, no one is better than anyone else and everyone's opinion is worthy of respect.

I personally believe in the bible and the uniqueness of
jesus in terms of salvation as the first begotten of the dead
as it says in revelation chapter 1.

But unfortunately i think many christian denominations
that teach eternal damnation of the wicked are sorely lacking
in full maturity in the word of God. As the greek word for eternity
only appears twice in the new testament and the other word
that some say means eternal damnation of the wicked can be
understood and a long duration but not eternal....
see tentmaker.org for more on this.

And something tho that tentmaker.org disavows as
scriptural is reincarnation, which tho i think is not denied by scripture
but more left in as a mystery that is tho compatable with Jesus and the bible.

Sorry if some are disappointed that the worst N or psychopath
can be redeemed from hell.
