Me too, Mud!
I was so surprised at the coincidence.
I thought it was a cute show and kept thinking of the board.

I kept having to remind myself that it wasn't a real school or the real world...
I always imagine little kids watching things. So, I was imagining an inner-city
kid watching that show...where there is no crime, violence, or even graffiti.
But its innocence was really nice.
Okay, now out comes the Hops crab:
I thought the girl's voice was really nasal. Yerggghh. The boy sang well, imo.
Shame these days so many singers are encouraged to sing through their sinuses.
And you know that glissando swoopy thing practically all pop singers do these days...all
those acrobatics, sliding from note to note? You're in luck, I have a...rant!
I used to have gospel albums because I always loved it.
Early classic amazing singers such as Mahalia Jackson would "leave the melody" out of the pure emotional force of what they were experiencing as they sang. Aretha Franklin did that too, but on a sexual channel rather than a spiritual one.
So anyhow, I Do. Not. Like. It. when contemporary singers do this...boinging around the notes thing...with no feeling. I'd rather they sang a pure note until LIFE demanded a different thing to happen. Instead, they sail around (what's the word I'm looking for, Write?) like robots.
Ahhh, such a satisfying spasm of old-fogeyness.
(I do a great old-crone cracky voice...wanna hear it?)
