Last night I ran into an old friend at a Christmas party. She was on her way out and stopped to chat for a moment, talking about Santa and her boys ages 9 and 12. Her older son Christmas desires when she interrupted and asked if he had written his letter to Santa. He looked at her with slight skepticism in his eye but before he could speak she responded with their family's Christmas policy, "You must believe in order to receive." And with the bllink of an eye he was off to write his missive to Santa.
All morning long that phrase has resounded in my mind. It was a gift to me and I will take it into the new year. This is not just a Christmas though but the way I chose to believe from here on out. I have been moving toward this philosophy these past few months and really for many years now. "I must believe in order to receive."
I hope you will believe this holiday season and beyond. Thanks to the many of you who have helped me learn to believe and who I am counting on to continue to help me learn to believe.
Seasons Greetings to you all - love - Gaining Strength
(I'm off to do the impossible because I believe I can accomplish.)
