on a happier note
« on: March 07, 2004, 02:30:22 PM »
I don't know why it took me so long to participate instead of reading everyone's posts, but now that I have (hopefully not in such bursts in the future), I just want to say how helpful it is to be able (finally) to be able to hash out these issues with people who have been there!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  :D

Yes Wildflower, it is a good place to learn from others isn't it. What I find so valuable is the variety of contributors. All at  different stages of healing and dealing with abuse in their lives. And in responding, it's like group therapy as well. Different experiences and ideas expressed and then re-expressed back by others get developed so much faster and produce new meaning. The processing of ideas with many like-experienced brains and hearts at work on a topic has produced quite a few revelations and much needed paradigm shifts for me. Blinkers off - peripheral vision activated.

Glad to hear it's been a good experience for you, participating. I wouldn't worry about how often you post, or your bursts in the future. No point bottling it up. That's sometimes exactly what the board is for. Especially when trouble and confusion come into our lives. The beauty of this board is that each topic we participate in we often get fresh new ideas and such differing and constructive input from a great variety of people who have been where we are. From the different advice and ideas presented, we are then able to find things that have worked for people or didn't work work for others. From this we grow and learn, and employ new actions and attitudes into our lives that suit our style and personality. Wishing you well.
