Paper Mountain
« on: February 17, 2007, 04:07:10 PM »
I ain't making much progress with the logjam of paperwork I've allowed to mount again.

It's another weekend day that I'm letting sail on by.

This is not a good thing.

End of vent.

An embarrassed,

Dear Hops

((((((((condolences for the paperwork mountain)))))))))))

I have a crystal ball and I see you rollerskating on a lovely straight piece of blacktop through a field of daffodils and tulips.  You are laughing your head off and having fun. Carefree.
You have on a special rollerskating outfit to match the color of your lipstick and you look really zippy. You are going so fast you have to wear a bell to alert passersby. Your dog is running behind you with a dashing kerchief around his neck.  The sun is shining and you are going for a lovely coffee latte with a tulip in the froth.

Love ya,

Sea storm

Sometimes you've just got to say, "What the ******!!"

I have found that in the morning I can't think about doing anything... literally... I feel ill and anxious if I start thinking about what I need to do.
But if I sit and have my coffee first and pretend that nothing exists but me and the coffee (and maybe the paper or my weirdo kids and dog) that after a bit I can cinsider doing some things. And if I consider doing the things and that doesn't make me anxious, then I will start something and usually I get some stuff underway.
And then there are other days... like yesterday... when I had stuff I "needed" to do. And didn't... and the world didn't fall apart...

Love you,
Beth

Thanks so much guys.
It was a pit sort of day.

I've begun the paperwork, which is a help.

I reached a place of real self-disgust today.
A very unpleasant feeling but it did help me get moving.

Not feeling too well now but I have a sense of commitment
I haven't had in a while.

I worked 5 hours straight on it and it will take several days more,
because I work fulltime and care for Mom evenings.

But I've made order. I see space and not pure chaos.

I remember years ago one gesture I'd made was simply to make my bed.

I think in spite of my happiness in my new job, which is very real,
I've been avoiding an undercurrent of depression.

It may be time for me to do some therapy again.

thanks again for the caring. I am very lucky to be here.

A friend of mine recently got the job of her dreams.  And the reality of getting that job....is that it is the job of her dreams.  It is a very good place for her to be.  But since she got it, she hasn't felt well.  She worried about that.  But I bet she wasn't feeling well all along.  It's just that the bad previous job was so bad it was a distraction from what was going on in her body and heart.  That distraction is now gone.  So, she doesn't feel so good.  But that is okay.  I think it means she is now ready for the next step in her life, the next part of the journey.  At any rate, she now has an opportunity to take the next step.

It sounds like in your case, that bad previous job might have distracted you from some things.  Those things are still going on and now it's kind of in your face.

To me, it is very important to be kind to yourself because you do work full-time and you care for your mother in the evenings.  Sounds so quiet.  But those are two pretty big things going on in your life right now.  I remember when my life was similar to that I finally came to the conclusion that the only thing I should aim for each day was to get out of bed.  Everything else was bonus.  And I did that 365 times that year.  So, that was a great year if you ask me.  365 successes in a row.  Plus, all the bonuses.  I don't think I had ever been that successful before (when I always thought of success as being rich or happy or busy or easy).  And that kind of thinking did get me through a very rough patch.  Now that it is over with, I can hardly believe I made myself  do any of it.  Maybe it was the switch in thinking that made it slightly bearable.

PP,
Thank you so much for that wisdom.
I'm a ROARING success!

(I do feel much better about things today because I got it started.
Have a huge pile with me too, that I can work on for an hour today.)

Next chance will be early tomorrow a.m. before work.
My goal is to finish it all by the weekend so when I'm home, I'm at peace for a change.

Thanks again, a whole big lot.

love,
Hops
