Feeling proud
« on: May 06, 2007, 12:57:41 PM »
Hi All,

don't know if you guys remember a list I made when I came on here some time ago.  Well, I am sitting here with sore knees, aching hips and feeling rather proud as I have just crossed off one more thing from my list.  I used to be such a couch potato and today

I TOOK PART IN A HALF MARATHON = 13 MILES.

I wanted to share this achievement with my friends on this board.  If someone had told me a year ago that I would take part in such an event I would have said it was not possible.

SO MUCH IS POSSIBLE WHEN WE CHOOSE THE POSSIBILITIES.

Me again, since I am feeling so proud I thought I would share some other things I have crossed off my list

GO TO INDIA

TAKE PART IN A HALF MARATHON

KEEP AWAY FROM NARCISSISTS

CLIMB A MOUNTAIN

HAVE A PARTY

KEEP AWAY FROM ANGRY PEOPLE

MAKE A COLLECTION OF PAINTINGS

All of the above are commitments I made to myself which I have kept.

Axa !!

Thanks for letting us share in your joy, plus I think it's also another achievement to be able to have healthy pride.

Axa,

Wow!!  I wish I could do that.  I'm so out of shape.
It feels so good when you make a goal doesn't it?

I'm very excited for you and proud to see another fellow *sister* be able to take control of her life and keep climbing those mountains that always seemed to be so high before.

Keep climbing only way is up for you now.

Lots of Love
Deb

Yay, Axa!  You've come a long way since I first "met" you on the board!  I remember where you were.  But you are making goals and taking baby steps, one after another, until you meet them.

Congratulations!

Axa,
You blow me away! CONGRATULATIONS!

Have you always had self-discipline like this?

I am awed, and very very happy for you.

Thank you all for your acknowledgements

Hops,

No way.  When I threw XN out I was determined to start living again.  I felt like I had been one of the living dead around him, as if the life had been sucked out of me.  I was hungry to feel alive again.  I was so full of energy that I just went for it.  I find it easy to start things but struggle with the motivation to continue on alone.  I still have many things on my list to do and am working on them.  Self discipine has never been my strong point but I recognise it now as a real part of my self care.

Hope your business ideas are coming together for you.

xx
