For CB...re. writing
« on: June 07, 2007, 12:18:57 PM »
Hi CB,
Late to work and can't find our earlier thread...just wanted to say I believe the Goddard MFA does require a residency to earn the degree...but it's JUST EIGHT DAYS in the summer! All the rest is done online. That's right amazing for such a fine institution. (My dad was a dean so I grew up listening to adults yak about colleges...)

cool, huh? They have other programs too. You would write a lot in any of them, I'd think they have history...independent studies, etc, etc...

xo, just to egg you on...(but no pressure!)  :)

CB,
It's just staggering how much you juggle and still make sense.
Not only sense but SMART.

Your lamp is out from under its bushel, all right...I love hearing about you.

Just keep up the really good self-care.

love

Ain't no rosy workplace.

Well, mine's pretty good. But that's after 20 years of toxic places, with a couple friendly oases.

Observing's good and you're keen, CB. Takes a while for the Real People to surface from their work roles.
Just remember you've got an UNUSUAL amount of common sense, so prepare to be dismayed.
I'll bet you're good at calm boundaries, protecting yourself while you get acclimated.

Many people substitute their work "family" for other chosen relationships built on meaningful things in common beyond work mode.
I think it's a mistake...not that you were talking about that, but you know what I mean.

rambling,

I just really had my hopes up that I would love this job--and as it turns out, it's just a job.

a friend told me last year any job has that element because it's work; I think that's why i enjoy my low paid or unpaid work more...

People's behaviour at work is often so childish I have found.
I am trying hard not to get involved and to take my faith in to work with me and move away from anything unloving or unkind.

Hope this week is better for you CB.

((((((((((((((CB))))))))))))))))

I would LOVE to work beside you.

(Except I'd drive you nuts in a kitchen.)
