Dr. Grossman/Sticky for Stories???
« on: August 28, 2007, 08:40:57 AM »
Hi Dr. Grossman,
I so love tt's thread on our stories. Do you think we could make them into a "sticky" thread so that new people can read them as soon as they get here?
Thanks!!!!

Hey Hopes,
I means it would stay at the top of the list of topics. I know I looked everywhere for stories like this when I was starting to figure things out.
Love, Beth

Hi Beth,

I think it's a great idea!  But rather than making it a "sticky", I was thinking of making it a separate "board"  entitled Member Stories (current boards are Voicelessness and Emotional Survival Message Board, What Helps, and VESMB Reading List).   What do you (and everybody else) think?

Dr. Grossman,

A separate board for these N accounts would be fantastic, as far as I'm concerned.

I've been wanting to tell you, also... I've nearly emailed several times, after reading your essays (again, after 15 months here)...
they finally touched me in a way that made a difference. I mean, I always "got it", but now I "get it". So thank you.
I gave up the violin at 14 also... just didn't realize that meant giving up all hope of receiving mothering, as well.
I wonder what my mother would think of your personal account... I really do.
Not sure I'm brave enough to send it to her.
But I'm brave enough to say thank you and really mean it... this board and your essays both have changed my life.

From my heart,
Hope

Dr. Grossman,
I think a separate area is a great idea. Again, I know I searched to find this kind of compilation when I first felt I knew what might be the issue with my family.
Thanks for this board and your direction and attention. It helps so many people.

Dr. G.,

Creating a separate board is what I thought (after Beth made her appeal to you) would be the most efficient way to do it.  That way each member will have equal opportunity to tell their story.   Newbies will have the benefit of being able to read firsthand accounts of narcissistic conduct and it's outflow of abuse right from the horses mouth, so to speak. Thanks,

Hi Everyone,

I just want y'all to know that I won't be porting any more 'nparent stories' to the Anthology thread.  The reason is because I think creating a separate board as Dr. G. proposes is a much better way (see below).  It seems like this is an idea whose time has come.

Once the Members Stories board is up, I'll take the Anthology thread down.  Then each member can post their story or the URL to it.  Don't know if the Member's Stories board will allow for a second party porting the stories of others.  That is up to Dr. G.  I'm excited about this new upcoming feature.

Dr. G.  please let me know if I should do anything differently than what I mention above.

And Beth, thanks for building a fire under this idea!    8)

tt-
The idea was all yours, sweet lady!!!!! I just wanted to make it permanent. I think I will write a story that is more comprehensive as soon as I get a bit and post it to the new board.

Hi Beth,

I am so looking forward to the way this new board develops.

How's Henry?  And the kiddles?  And Hubby?
