Words DO hurt
« on: November 28, 2007, 07:27:20 AM »
This little girl (13) killed herself when she became the victim of online hoax (and adult who pretended to be her friend and then started bombarding her with nasty messages, the last of which stated "The world would be better off without you).  She hung herself with her belt in her closet.  Just more proof that words do hurt, even on line.

Turns out the "boy" was a neighbor, who lived four doors down.  She wanted to see if this little girl was talking about her daughter so posed as a 16 year old boy, Josh -- the whole family apparently was in on it.  They said that they felt bad, but then no so bad because the girl had threatened suicide before.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree, words delivered are powerful; they either build or destroy.
