Hair today ..... gone tomorrow ....
« on: December 02, 2007, 10:34:47 AM »
A very old lady looked in the mirror one morning. She had three remaining hairs on her head, and being a positive soul, she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today." So she braided her three hairs, and she had a great day.

Some days later, looking in the mirror one morning, preparing for her day, she saw that she had only two hairs remaining. "Hmm, two hairs... I fancy a centre parting today." She duly parted her two hairs, and as ever, she had a great day.

A week or so later, she saw that she had just one hair left on her head. "One hair huh...," she mused, "I know, a pony-tail will be perfect." And again she had a great day.

The next morning she looked in the mirror. She was completely bald.

"Finally bald huh," she said to herself, "How wonderful! I won't have to waste time doing my hair any more ........."

What a sweet lady with a wonderful outlook on life

 :)  Love, Leah

Leah-

I think someone with this attitude can accomplish so much, without vanity, pride, ego and greed getting in the way and dissapating the life force. But it's a hardlesson to learn- just as one must lift weight to become stronger, one must weather losses gracefully to gain this much grace.

Love,

Changing

My Dear (((((Leah))))-

Perhaps this is why those who are the oldest may be the wisest and most beautiful of all. Though not everyone who grows older grows wiser, those who do are incomparably refined and posses a universal sort of knowledge.

Dear Changing

I often think that what is desperately needed in the world today is wise women of grace and integrity

of whom we can look to for wisdom and guidance.

Ahh dear Leah  :)   You put me in mind of Isaiah 61... beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness...

thank you!

In great peace and love,
Carolyn

May the Lord bless you, always, dear Carolyn

Earlier on, read through again Isaiah 61 -- truly blessed me so much.

Much love,

Leah

It is said by St. Teresa of Avila that the more that we give up this world, vanity, pride, points of honors etc., the better or more we will be able to taste the things of heaven, or the next world.

Thanks for sharing this story!
