TV special tonight "In God's Name"
« on: December 23, 2007, 10:30:32 AM »
Hi All,

Just a quick post and run-

Tonight on CBS, there is a special documentary which will have interviews with 12 spiritual leaders- and I think the filmmakers were
near the WTC, and also made a documentary about it- a couple of brothers named Naudet?

I hope I remember to watch it this evening with the holiday time crunch!

Talk to everyone soon, I hope !

Thanks for the reminder Cat.  I read about it and it sounds very interesting.  I am going to go look up the time that it airs here.  If you watch it I would love to hear your thoughts about it.

So glad you posted.  I am watching it now.  It doesn't strike me with such profundity as it does with a strong sense of peace and decency and caring.   Those are the things that I plan to look for in people this new year.  Those are the things I intend on focusing on rather than on the slights and offences that I have loved laboring over and reliving.

So glad I caught it.  Thanks Cat

I am thankful for the peace on earth which Jesus brought, on that Christmas some 2,000 years ago... that peace which surpasses all human understanding, between God and man.

And I echo the prayer of astronaut Frank Borman, as Apollo 8 circled the moon nearly 39 years ago...

Give us, O God, the vision which can see thy love in the world, in spite of human failure. Give us the faith to trust the goodness in spite of our ignorance and weakness. Give us the knowledge that we may continue to pray with understanding hearts, and show us what each one of us can do to set forth the coming of the day of universal peace. Amen.

The person who touched me the most was the Hindu woman.  I realized later that it had something to do with the fact that she was a woman (that doesn't usually hook me) and a great part was because of the peace she exudes.  I have taken her image with me ever since the program.  Sometimes I call up her image and imagine myself being received by her and at other times I imagine myself being directed by her to stand in her shoes and look out on the masses waiting to be received and seeing not their pain but her love.  Both of these images are soooo therapeutic.

Thanks to you Cat's Paw that I saw it and have yet another image in my arsenal of changing my thoughts and my brain.
