Yes,yes,yes
See if you can find a foot reflexologist. My friend was one and he had wonderful, wonderful results with people. If not, I would go to a chiropractor and also an accupuncturist.
However,IME ,the foot reflexologist is the best way, by far.
  Let me know, Beth.
Hope you feel better, very soon.    Love   Ami

Dear Beth,
You could go online and get a foot reflexology chart and also a hand one(b/c you might noe be able to reach your feet). You could find the lower back points and work on them ,yourself.
When you find them, they will be really sore, so that will be a clue that you have the right place. I wish I were there to show you, b/c I know them, after going to my friend for 3 years.           Love to you,  Ami

(((((((((((Beth)))))))))) So sorry you're hurting... I know that's a truly miserable pain. My chiropractor uses an adjustment tool like a little plunger to target very specific locations and deliver a very concentrated thrust. I trust her alot more using that than some of the quackers who wrassle your back around via hand manipulations. It always helps.

Hoping and praying that you get relief soon, Beth.

Love,
Carolyn

Ami,
I love you. Thank you so much. I started just feeling around my hand to see where it hurt. Then I found a chart. I am feeling lots better already. Maybe I will make it through this.
Phoenix, thanks for the tips on the magnets. I will look into them as well.
Carolyn, thank you also. I know I had a masseuse who was able to locate points as you mentioned. I would be so scared to have anyone twist my back now.
Thank you all so much. This is about the limit of my sitting for the moment, but will check in later.
Love, Beth

Hi Beth,

A good masseur (sp) with strong hands and good knowledge of the human body might be a tremendous help.

It was for my daughter who goes in and out of sciatica episodes.

How severe is her sciatica? Actually, for all of you, may I ask that question? I am wondering where I lie on the pain-o-meter. I had back surgery 5 years ago for this, but had not had a recurrence until the past few days.

Hi Beth,

I do not know anything about Sciatica pain but I wish you healing and I am sorry that you are experiencing pain. I once heard a woman say that every pain we experience, including our physical ones, are just symptoms trying to tell us a story of a deeper unconscious issue.

Compost, if needed.

I don't have any helpful suggestions, only empathy, with the pain, having had something similiar.

I am so sorry to know that you are in this kind of pain and discomfort.

I am glad to see such wonderful helpful advice and comfort offered you here.

Sincerely hope it clears up soon.

Thank you all again so much. Yes, Phoenix, I had the same severe pain. I was having heaving crying jags out of fear and frustration. I am, thankfully, feeling a lot better today. I did the massage on my hands and feet all yesterday plus cold therapy. I did not get much sleep, but I am not in sever pain now. I think this was my wake-up call to lose weight and strengthen my core. I will not be sloppy again, as I do not wish to go through this again. Thank you ((((((((((((((((Ami, Carolyn, Izzy, Phoenix, Gabben, tt, Leah))))))))))

Ooo Beth, I'm sorry.
I have ruptured disks and been to ER for the pain.
And it has been chronic for years.

It got much better since a round of chiropractor visits, though.
Still can't do any even medium-heavy lifting, but now I can walk w/o pain.

Chiro helped me a ton.
Hope you're soon better!

love,

((((((((Beth)))))))) I'm so glad to know that you're not suffering as before! What a relief!!

For me, posture is 95 percent of prevention... makes all the difference in the world, to hold my back straight (even if that requires a brace-wrap, at first. A firm mattress and straight-back chairs, along with daily stretches and no twisting movements have kept me out of the chiropracter's office for several years now. Lifting hasn't even been the issue nearly so much as dumb stuff like bending from a sitting position and twisting, to pick up a dropped pencil from the floor. Paying close attention to the little nerve twinges teaches ya what to avoid, that's for sure. Take really good care, dear Beth.

Love,
Carolyn
