Hi Hops,
Thank you for the website link which I will peruse. "Bring back glass bottles" and end the plastic bottles and containers, fact is though, 'blasted' plastic it is a massive global industry.
I have been speaking with some dear ladies who shared of how they always went shopping with a small shopping basket, and shopping bags, and they said, with a smile, that we young 'uns are lazy, and I do feel, that they have a valid point. So, I now have a couple of shopping bags in "Jute" material, which are biodegradable upon end of life, that said, they should last for years.
In the monthly newsletter, I wrote a small article entitled "drowning in a sea of plastic" which met with a positive response, thankfully, or could have been placed into the village "stocks" and met with with flying tomatoes and eggs!!!

The local shops now sell "Jute" shopping bags.
Love, Leah
PS > what does upset me is driving along the countryside and seeing plastic bags in the hedgerows which will end the life of some creature. If possible, I will pull in and stop, and remove any plastic bags, which is not a problem, as I have a pair of gloves in the car, for grotty jobs i.e. checking air pressure etc. as the tyres are dirty!! (ps. the gloves are not pink!!)
