When will I ever grow up and stop being a baby?

Does anyone have this painful thought that they are just a vulnerable child in an adult wolrd irrespective of how old we are  in adult years?

I do at times. Many, many times.

Well, I do think I will never "catch up".  And I am constantly amazed at the wide variety of behaviors that are really social skills.  These behaviors seem so natural to other people.  I'm just now getting the connection with how some stuff people do, they are doing to "get connected" or bonded with others.
