Took a Quiz about my beliefs
« on: July 25, 2008, 02:01:49 PM »
Some one sent me a link to belief o matic.. I was baptised a Roman Catholic.. and well.. it was chosen for me...but I never believed in it ..100%....it's a personality quiz about your spiritual and religious beliefs..

So I took this test and answered some questions according to my beliefs and they matched what was close to my beliefs... and Unitarian Universalism came out 100%, Liberal Quakers 98%, Neo Pagan 95%, Reform Judaism 95%, Mahayana Buddhism 85% and many more... but Roman Catholic.. which I am...came out..at 31% next to the bottom of list..

Interesting...

Here is the link if anyone wants to try it....

Deb,

I took that oh, I don't know -- maybe a year or so ago, I think. My cousin had recommended it to me.

I came out as a liberal quaker also, followed by liberal mainline protestant, which is what I am.

Not surprising about the quaker bit; I come from a loooooooong line of quakers. I went to a meeting this winter. I really, really liked it but their theology is just a tiny bit too liberal for me.

Very interesting, all yours!!! I think you need to tell us more about yourself, based on that!

Interesting.  I also came out 100% Unitarian Universalism, followed by 92% Mahayan Buddhism and 92% Liberal Quakers.  I wouldn't really argue with any of that except that I've always identified more with Buddhism.  Roman Catholic, for me, came last, at 29%.  I guess that explains two ex-boyfriends!

I came out:
1.  Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2.  Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (97%)

exactly where I am - right between the liberal and the conservative episcopalian.  Thanks for sharing that - it is very interesting to me.  I knew I was in the right place though I am very frustrated with the current dynamics of todays episcopal church.

Historically, my family is half Unitarian, half Episcopalian.  Interesting for this board: my NF refused to allow any religion in the house.  He didn't want anyone to have a place of "solace" to turn to.  And of course the classic notion of hell would have been a bit hard for someone with his track record to swallow.
