TV show: "In Treatment"

One of my dog park buddies is Matthew Gilbert, the Boston Globe T.V. critic--and he loves the show...  Any thoughts?  Is it/was it like your therapy?

Best,

Richard

Hi Dr G, have read about it and am awaiting UK airing. It sounds like it is pretty demanding (an hour a night for 5 nights straight?) for anyone who doesn't watch tv, but I'll be giving it a go when it gets here. Would like to hear views from anyone who has been watching.

I rented all of them(First Season) on Netflix.  LOVED it! It is so addictive !                   Ami

Love, love, love this show. But it's not like my therapy in 3 ways.

There's a script, so it's not as boring and frustrating as therapy in real life can be sometimes.

You can actually see the arc of a client's story over a relatively short period of time. Where they've been, where they are, where they're going. I can't see the arc of my own story yet, although I trust my T has a better grasp of that.

My therapist does not look like Gabriel Byrne or speak with an Irish brogue. Damn.

Hi Richard,

Haven't seen the show, but,  do you run into any narcissistic dogs at the park?   :D

No, but sometimes I whisper in dogs' ears suggestions on how to leave their narcissistic owners.
