Hawaii and bad driving
« on: January 29, 2010, 02:46:13 AM »
Hello everyone....I am in beautiful Maui.  My mom and I came over to babysit while my daughter and her husband go on their honeymoon.  They were in school when they got married and then soon after got pregnant.  My mom and dad promised them a trip to Maui for their honeymoon.  My mom and dad were going to go with but since my dad died, I got to go.

So guess how it is?  Mom rented a car and only she can drive.  We all are very wary of her driving.  It is like she owns the road.  She is all over the road and doesn't have a care in the world.  Meanwhile we are all having heart attacks because she meanders over the center line on curvy Maui two lane roadways.  She doesn't notice the break lights in front of her so nearly rear ends the cars in front of us.  If not for us yelling her commands as we drive we are all sure we are going to get killed.  She said something like, "you just don't like it that you are not in control......or I know how you feel when I am not driving."  And I want to yell at her.....NO YOU DO NOT BECAUSE I AM A GOOD DRIVER AND YOU SUCK!!!

Or....the next time she goes out driving alone, notify the local police before she kills someone else?

This is sick but I was almost wishing she would rear end someone so I could tell the police that I have been concerned about her driving so quite some time.

It isn't just that.  It is the whole package.  The whole "i will not retire and be put out to pasture."

Your son in law must be thrilled to have his crazy grandmother in law with him on his honeymoon. Woo hoo. Oh joy.

Hey Kelly,

Yeah I was kinda thinking what Mud was...not too many kids would be thrilled about spending their honeymoon with the in laws.  (Heck, I'm not a kid and it wouldnt appeal to me either )

I was thinking...assertion:

Sorry, I'm really uneasy with your driving, so I'm going to do something on my own.

Bye...

Hey Kelly,

Stay out of the car with her.  Rent one, stay local, hop a bus but stay out of that car, please.  She says you just don't like it because your not in control ...She's not of the car.  Don't get in.

This is hitting close to home for me about her driving and yesterday there were 3 people killed who never seen the person we know coming and killed them instantly....He survived.

Stay out of the damn car....you just do it.

Many lives have been destroyed because of this...I know what I'm doing...not the same it was drunk driving...but still couldn't control the car......they just thought they could.

Sorry to be such a downer but just stay out of her car....

Love
Deb

I don't think my son in law cared.  They didn't want to leave their 17 month old so we babysat while they did their thing.  Snorkeling.  Dinner cruise.  Pearl Harbor.  Submarine.  None of it we went on,

I decided that was the LAST time I was EVER getting in the car with my mom and the whole "we are getting along so well" thing is over.  She is a bitch plain and simple.  It is her way of the highway.  She is so afraid of being "put out to pasture" that she will spend her riches getting her way.

Meanwhile......exit stage left!!  I am outta there AGAIN!!!

We are gone.  Now we are going to Cancun.  Mom will be there but it isn't a vacation arranged by her.  My cousin is getting married down there.  So it will be nice to not be with mom and not have to babysit.  It will be fun to go down there and not have to get in the car with her.

She is getting alzheimers.....of this I am sure.  She will continue to go downhill.  I am thinking about contacting the DOT and tell them I think she is a menace on the road.
