Yesterday, while taking my morning walk/jog, I was contemplating how close I am to going completely NC. I feel I am almost ready.
As I was walking I was thinking about this and a thought about rip tides came up. (I surf alot, in case you are wondering). Ns are like rip-tides, they may look calm and inviting on the surface, but underneath is a very powerful undercurrent that will carry you out to sea with no hope of coming back to shore if you don't know what to do. Of course, swimming directly to shore makes it worse and no matter how hard you try you are swimming against a very powerful undertow. You'll use up your valuable energy and wont ever reach the shore. (kind of like how my life has been until now). The only way to escape a rip tide is to swim parallel to shore in the same direction where the waves originate from. Within a couple yards, you will break free of the undertow and then can swim to shore safely. This is kind of what I am doing right now. I've tried swimming to shore and got sucked back into the current bringing me back out to sea. So, now I am focusing on staying parallel until I can escape the undertow and make it to shore safely.
Anyone felt a similar experience with going NC?
