Thanks Lighter. I'm going to download this for later reading (it's quite long). I found the first few pages extremely validating in that they list events like vacant parenting as being a form of trauma. I suffer from severe anxiety, yet people will often scoff at the notion that I was traumatized by bad parenting. Most people associate trauma with military combat, assault, car accidents, and other violent events, so those of us who suffered at the hands of N-parents do struggle for validation over our depression, anxiety, and in some cases, PTSD.

Along the lines of your post, Bradshaw's book THE FAMILY defines trauma to children in many forms, and is super validating, IMO... along the lines of the article. 

If you can pick the book up cheap on Amazon I think it would be worth the read.
