Hi Everybody,

OK, I'm exaggerating, but some may find this interesting/amusing (I did!):

Ha!  :D Funny, Dr G. I get it.

As for the findings, why is it that I feel an obvious brand name label slightly diminishes my 'image'? Even my branded jacket slightly annoys me (it was given to me by a neighbour!).

My self esteem is boosted by getting these brand name products from a thrift store or other secondary market source.  Then I get whatever benefits there are from the product without being one of the suckers who pay high prices for the privilege.  I got my North Face jacket for 5% of the store price... :D

I avoid all branded brands because they make me feel like a billboard.
Years ago I bought a very attractive pair of pants (can't remember the designer's name) and a friend when horrified when she saw me cutting off the little outward-label tag on the pocket.

I told her I'm already annoyed by what clothes cost and I'll be damned if I'll also be providing walking advertising. Once it's on me, I'd rather the clothing were about me, my own style.

(Advanced Goodwill...)

Ha Hops
I avoid all branded brands (eh? :P) because i have no idea what image the advertising is saying about me! What on earth is GAP saying?  Better to be 'no logo' than misunderstood logo? Can you wear Chanel or YSL ironically and if so, is it worth trying and if so, what the hell for? :D

OTOH I do have a 1970s nostalgia for the old Levis label. Their advertising was superb. So I am not immune.
