Kelly Checking IN

Hello everyone.......................boy it has been a long time since I visited this sight.  I kind of checked out during that feud between - gosh I forgot who the feud was with but it was a little exhausting so I checked out.  Now I am here to tell you all that I am alive and WELL.  This is good.  I have set such good boundaries with my Nmom that she is FINALLY learning to NOT interfere.  Maybe she really isn't N but just extremely controlling, although I still think she's a bit N.  She pulled an "Al Gore, I invented the internet" thing the other day and I just had to shake my head.  We own a bookstore and we were talking about remodeling and someone asked who put the categories where they were.  Well, I knew that the store designer did it but she said, "I did it................."  I said something like, "Gee, I didn't think you were that smart."  Knowing that she was full of it, I just kept quiet and let her with her smug self think that she ACTUALLY had designed the floor layout.  That is what makes me think that deep down inside she is an N.  It's ALL ABOUT HER!!

GOOD TO TALK TO YOU ALL!  HOPE TO HEAR FROM SOME OF YOU!

How about this one?  My NMum claims to have met President Kennedy in Ireland in 1963 and danced with him!!!!!!!

Complete and utter lie given that she was about 8 months pregnant with me and waved at his motorcade.  She has 'historically' placed me at events before my birth to suit her grandiosity.  Even before I realised she was an N - I had an inbuilt BS filter, seriously.  I'd listen to her words, replay them and make the truth out of them.  She's an inveterage liar and always to her own advantage.

I was wondering if anyone else had situations where their N parent had fabricated their significance?  My mom has also taken credit for heading up an industry initiative that she had no experience in and only volunteered for the board to "be somebody."  Then she contacted an industry magazine and gave them quotes on the committee findings, furthering her image as an authority on the initiative.  It's interesting, too, that she will interview myself and others at our store before she goes to the committee meetings so that she will "know" what she is talking about when she is there.  But if you were to go to our store and ask her to "do" anything, she couldn't.  She would have to ask others to do it for her.  And yet, she's the authority!!
