Toastmasters

I grew up with a N father and have been trying to recover from it (I'm 32).  One way I'm doing that is by going to Toastmasters.  It's an organization where you learn to do speeches and literally to develop a voice.  You compose your own speeches on different topics and deliver them.  They also have segments of the meetings that do impromptu speeches.  It's a really amazing place.

One caveat here - you may not like the group you encounter - it may be a rough set people of they may be running the meeting incorrectly.  If so, search for another Toastmasters group (there are many).  You will soon find one that nurtures your voice.

Go to www.toastmasters.org.

Hope this helps.
