Interesting post/article-- thanks for sharing it.

My father was, without a doubt, mostly a "Power Broker," both practicing and idealizing the "corporate CEO, world-traveller-man-about town image.

Not sure where one really makes the "cut" between a person merely "having issues" and being a full-blown N, but I also found it noteworthy how much my S.O. fits the description of "Fantasy Maker."

Hi,

Can anyone explain why being a rescuer is N?  Is this being holier than thou, is that it?  I understand it isn't always a healthy position, but what makes it N?

Thanks.

My dad is a typical example of a Rescuer. He always NEEDS someone to be rescued ( someone who is unconditionally willing to always be lesser than him, a victim who always is dependant ).. if I try take care of myself, he will feel uneasy and thinks that I am being ungrateful and try even more desparately of what he knows best as 'love' that is more rescuing ! and rescuing me from what ? from me trying to rescue myself from his rescuing..it is a viscious cirle and it is very important to break away from such people and break the chain
