Really interesting.  I wonder if that dip in the "U" isn't some kind of biological imperative--a time of introspection and conserving strength, so we can go out with with a bang of energy and courage.  People always talk about "the winter of their lives" happening at the end.  But maybe that calendar-imagery is off: maybe youth is summer; early adulthood is fall; middle age is winter; and old age is spring.

Anyway, I feel my life began in the dip, and I am heaving my way out.  A "U-shaped" life doesn't look bad!  Seriously, hoping at this point that my life isn't M-shaped: just a series of climbing up and slipping back.

Yes, I feel that I started off unhappy and have got happier.  I'm almost 40 and definitely the happiest I've been in my life.  Not skipping around singing and dancing happy but generally content and at peace.  I still get lonely but even that isn't as bad as it used to be.  I'm kind of hoping for a happy 40 years to come after then unhappy 40 to start off with!

When I see a bonobo holding up traffic on a brand new Harley he can barely drive with some silicone chested, dope of a bleached blonde he left his wife for on the back I'll believe it.

You might want some type of screen in case the new monkey clients start flinging poo, doc.
Of course you probably have one of those already if you have any N clients. :)
