Here's news of a horror story coming from the Saudi courts:

I admit a severe prejudice against middle-Eastern judicial and conservative religious culture.

Not the people.
Not the "good parts" of Islam.
(Any more than the "good parts" of Christianity, which help offset the bloody OT.)

Fundamentalists or fanatics of any stripe are so so so destructive.
And I cringe (a lot) to see the rightward swinging of our own system/s...
