Donald Trump: Narcissism
« on: August 10, 2015, 02:11:41 PM »
Hi everybody,

While most politicians, IMO, would score high on the narcissism scale (years ago, when I began this web site, I wrote about Bill Clinton in this regard), Donald Trump would almost certainly be diagnosed (from what I have read and heard) with a narcissistic personality disorder.  In this regard, I loved this quote from his son, taken from an article from the Daily Beast entitled “You Have to Treat 'Em like Shit’: Before Megyn Kelly, Trump Dumped Wine on a Female Reporter”  by Asawin Suebsaeng (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/08/08/you-have-to-treat-em-like-shit-before-megyn-kelly-trump-dumped-wine-on-a-female-reporter.html)

“’How can you say you love us? You don’t love us! You don’t even love yourself. You just love your money,’ 12-year-old Donald Jr. told his father…”

As I wrote many years ago in my essay, "Voicelessness: Narcissism"  (http://www.voicelessness.com/narcissism.html) on this web site:

“Many people spend a lifetime aggressively trying to protect an injured or vulnerable "self."  Traditionally, psychologists have termed such people "narcissists," but this is a misnomer. To the outside world it appears that these people love themselves. Yet, at their core they don't love themselves--in fact their self barely exists, and what part does exist is deemed worthless. All energy is devoted to inflating the self, like a persistent child trying to blow up a balloon with a hole.”

Personally, I’m so glad Donald Jr. already knows this about his father!

Tee hee hee

Its better that people see his true self before someone gets him a political makeover.

Well I am not a republican nor a Democrat. I sort of feel like both parties don't represent my interests so I don't get too engaged. BUT Donald is bringing a funny/possibly scary celebrity aspect to our elections for sure.

He seems to have high ratings based on what news reports say or he did for a while.

I guess maybe people think that since he is a business man he can fix the American deficit. I will have to watch the debates on youtube or something because I missed them on TV.

Trump is a chump who I doubt will go anywhere.

I'm definitely glad somebody who would say something not only as amazingly narcissistic, but as downright delusionally Messianic about the prospect of him being President as;

"...this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal..."

could never get elected.

Oh wait.....um, never mind.
