A Peaceful 2022
« on: January 01, 2022, 08:24:05 PM »
I think what I most genie-wish for everybody is that we could all have simplicity, beauty, moments of creativity and especially PEACE in the New Year.

Happened across this and it made my heart sing.

Thanks for sharing that, Hops!  It's timely bc my artist friend is doing a series of paintings on a red fox.  Very cool👍

Great. Hope she enjoys them, he has a whole series.
The fox is wild but visits a lot, especially to hear the concerts.
(I love the way he takes his seat on the perfect rock.)

That setting makes me weak in the knees, it's so lovely.
Only caught a few glimpses of their porch but would LOVE to see the house!

Happy New Year!
Snow tonight, prolly. I'm ready.

No power (big snow) and hoping it'll be restored before below freezing temps tonight. Sitting in bed with many layers and warmest coat on.

Gotta get off my cell but wanted to wave at y'all.

Hugs
Hops

PS It just came back on! WHEW. Next time, I need to have the common sense to
have fresh batteries on hand and some form of bed-heating other than Pooch, who means well but can't warm enough parts at once. I feel grateful and extremely lucky to have the furnace chugging away again. Gives me perspective about folks who'd have suffered far more if it was off all night -- and routinely do.

Wave at!
It was a very heavy, wet snow...we got about 8 inches.
SO gorgeous, despite its taking down power lines.

The smaller (fortunately limber) trees were bowed low,
nearly to the ground under the weight, but the thick
covering of snow was absolutely stunning this time, all over the
trees and foliage made wild sculptures everywhere. So lovely.
Everything white and quiet and glistening. I love the deep
hush of snow days. The city just shut down.

Sunshine and blue sky returned mid-afternoon and the melt started.
Supposed to be very cold tonight, so it may be a magical icy
world outside tomorrow. Worried about me crows but otherwise
looking forward to that first look out the window.

Watching Pooch prance delicately through mini-drifts to do her
business is a hoot.

hugs
