What is sourcing?
« on: February 11, 2005, 06:15:03 PM »
I've heard a few of you refer to it and get the gist, but is there a definition?  Is it a techinical psychological term or just something used in the N community?  Does one particular author use it?

Thanks!

Cindi,

Wish I could help but I haven't heard of it related to psychology or narcissim, either.  You said you've heard it used & know the gist of it.

I'm curious, what do you feel it means?

Cindi:

Not sure what you mean by "sourcing"?  I have never heard of it.  I will see if it is in any of my books at home.  Patz

I have a guess as to what "sourcing" might mean. Could it be what N's do in seeking a source for their Narcissistic supply? I have never seen this term used in anything I have read, but I could see how this term could have evolved. Here it is in a sentence:

The Narcissist was sourcing a new woman because his old girlfriend decided she'd had enough.

Just a thought........

Chandra

I was thinking the same thing that the sourcing is done when the N is looking for supply.  I was wondering if sourcing and supply are used interchangeably???

 I guess I read it on another board when I was first looking for a board on this topic and it just stuck with me.  I thought I heard it here but it doesn't sound like it!

I thought the same thing Chandra did but wasn't sure if it came from a specific reference.

Thanks!  :)

Hi,

Does sourcing perhaps have something to do with ethics between individuals and groups?
