Good things happen
« on: June 17, 2005, 04:31:00 PM »
Hello, all.  I thought I'd update those of you who were so kind as to pray and show concern for my addicted niece a while back.
I spoke with my sister yesterday, and my beautiful and amazing niece is once again on the road to recovery.  My sister will not say anything like: she's all better, or it's the last time, etc....for she knows the underbelly of addiction too well.
But my niece does seem to be in a very different space than she has been for 2 years.  I too, feel the need to say this with caution, but today she is alive and doing well
She has a wonderful young man in her life, she has had (and still has) to face down a multitude of health and financial issues related to her time as a full blown addict, and my sister and her husband have stopped rescuing her.  Miraculaously, they now have an adult daughter, who although unsure of her life purpose right now, at least knows there is one.
Anyway, thanks for the prayers/positive energy...this kid has a lot of angels, that's for sure.

Lovely to hear some good news.  Hopefully, she will stay on the 'straight and narrow'.  Coming off drugs is hard but if she has addressed the reason she went on them, she's won the battle.

Kindest

Mum,
I'm so happy to hear that your niece's life is looking up.  I guess we can just continue to pray that she can remain drug-free and find a path to peace and happiness.

Blessings,

Brigid
