He's looking for people who have been diagnosed with NPD or similar personality disorders.

If only I could get my mother to appear so he could rip her a new one!  LOL

Do any of you guys have an N who might actually appear on his show?  How in the world is he going to possibly help them in a one hour show?

This is hilarious :!:  :!:   I would be happy to supply him with a list, but there isn't a one of them who thinks they have the problem.

I have actually seen people on the show who were most definitely n's and he still thought he could save their relationships and make everyone happy.  I even wrote to the show about one of their stories, saying that the guy was an n and Dr. Phil should tell that woman to run as far away from him as possible rather than trying to keep them together.  Ultimately, the guy refused to come back for any more shows (it was one of those relationship rescue series).  I guess he got tired of flaunting his affair and preening for the cameras.  Every time I saw him, I wanted to vomit.

We all know that one hour or 200 hours won't be fixing those folks.

Are you talking about Oprah's Dr. Phil or the Dr. Phil on Imus in the Morning :?

Oh, so it was you, Brigid, who gave him the idea for the N show.......

He was probably so fascinated with his NON results that he spun another show out of it (that guy is probably his main guest!)

He used to be Oprah's Dr. Phil--don't know about Imus as we don't get him here anymore.  But he has had his own show for a couple of years.  It precedes Oprah's show in our market.

Mum, I had Dr. Phil's show on in the background earlier and I heard the promo for tomorrow's show.  A repeat, of course, and it is the couple I was refering to.  Tune in if you get a chance.  You'll want to slaughter the guy :x (he also happens to be a doctor--a favorite profession of n's) and tell that woman to get some sense of self-esteem and leave the bastard in the dust.

While I might watch the show just to observe the N's reactions, I am not a fan of Dr. Phil's. His method of pop psychology is all wrong and is streamlined for what sounds best in front of a camera. His stories and anecdotes are annoying/useless, and I think that he takes advantage of people and has little compassion.

Plus, I can't respect someone who belittles obese people when he's obviously overweight.

Hey, yeah Dr. Phil's true story was on E today... yuck yuck yuck.

He is definitely a control freak, I think that is N status. If you notice his wife and sons are robots he has molded to his liking. He shames people one after another on national television. Even Oprah, I have heard has said he has gotten a bit out of control when he started his food line. She created or set the stage for an N monster. He is scary in his stoic, I am RIGHT and everyone else is wrong. His poor kids and wife. He is so slick and masterful (as one of you pointed out here) in his manipulating that he is scary and actually dangerous, I believe.

One more thing...

They interviewed his first wife, she said he controled her every move, he wouldnt let her work, he had her call him and tell him everywhere she went and had her work out, also making sure she worked out her chest to make her breasts look bigger. YUCK. She ran as quick as she could. Good for her!

Ok,,,I have to fess up here.  Dr. Phil on Imus in the Morning is a characiture of the real Dr. Phil....It's quite funny.  Dr. Phil may dispense generic advice on Oprah but he also dispenses generic advice on Don Imus...(Radio and TV:  MSNBC)  I think Don Imus has him pegged....
