my snake had babies
« on: July 14, 2005, 01:57:14 AM »
hi happy people.

what a strange new environment, when i try to login it makes my computer crash. i might have to change my name it doesnt seem to like 'd'smom'.  either way im just saying hello and that i have a tiny bit of good news. actually a couple bits of good news really.

mostly my pet garden snake had a litter of babies.

this may seem alien but it was really pretty adorable. she got very very fat and then had about 13 little tiny baby snakes just a few days ago. baby snakes might not seem adorable but they really actually are.

she was born in captivity and ive raised her since birth 7 years ago - and i raised the 2 that are the daddy snakes since they were babies 3 years ago. this is their very first litter.

it was really a joyful little day for us becuase these snakes are very social and they spend a lot of time wrapped around each other and draped over each other. its fulfilling to see them having a little family and enjoying each others company. you wouldnt think that snakes have family instinct but these ones do.

also my daughter will be here next thursday for 2 weeks. so thats going to be really a joyful treat. =also= shes been at camp so i havent had to interact with fembot & dr. N for almost a month now. becuase of this ive been able to sleep and have pleasant dreams and =no nightmares=. its like a major mental vacation.  even treated myself to a dare i say it? -sexxxy- new haircut that makes me feel happy.

so..... this has been a pretty pleasant month overall. like i can breathe again after years of a heavy weight on my chest. i cant wait until those horrible people are out of my life and delphine's life for good. CANT WAIT~!~~~~~

hope everyones well. thinking about you all.

aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhh!  Baby snakes!  How cute!  I wish I could see them.  The truly maternal/paternal instinct is so precious.  I've done animal rescue for many years now and I think it has kept me very centered on what is important in life.

d's mom,

I am a real animal lover, and actually do enjoy snakes, but have never had one as a pet.  I bet those babies are cute.  It is hard to imagine them being "family oriented."  :D

I hope you have a wonderful visit with your daughter.  I hope she had a good time at camp and away from dr. evil and his mate.  ENJOY!!! :D :D :D

Hi Brigid- when I saw the heading of " my snake had babies", I thought you were maybe referring to a N partner having a child/children- twins?- with some other unsuspecting woman!! Hee hee! Now that i'm straightend out- I have to say I have brought home snakes since I was a kid and I share your ? affection...? affinity for them. Thanks for the inadvertent laugh!!
I've just ended abusive relationship of 1 yr. with male narcissist. I cycle between stages of anger and grieving and have accepted it. Hope I've alienated him so he won't recontact me- is this possible?     Moira

Hi D'smom:

I'm not a snake lover but my daughter is.  She would love to see those little babies.  Does the mother let you handle them?

I'm so glad to hear things are going well for you right now!  That's great to hear!  You deserve some peace and happiness!  Enjoy!!

Have a great time during your upcoming visit with your daughter.  I hope you have wonderful time together.  It won't be long now!

Wow, that sounds very fun!  What are you going to do with the snakes when they get big?  Do you let them go?  How does that work?
