Unfortunately I think some people are drawn to healthcare professions because they like feeling like little tin gods.

Not all, but way too many of them. Of course even one is way too many.

Abuse is precisely the word. These people are Ns, and they are abusers.

I am so sorry you are being subjected to this, October. (((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))

This sounds just awful.  I am sorry you have to deal with this, too.  You are strong enough to overcome this, but it isn't pleasant to have to do so.
I don't have any practical advice.  Just my feelings of support to send your way.

Thanks.  Feelings of support are all that I need, because they are all I lack within myself.  ((((Hugs))))

Meanwhile, response from GP has been ... nothing whatever.   :?

Just wanted to send you lots of love and say my thoughts are with you.....  I have done counselling training myself and know that there are many many people out there practising who have never done a jot of work on themselves as they are not strong enough to face what they may find.  Instead they prefer to try to 'fix' others and end up letting all their own stuff get in the way.

Lots and lots of hugs

Thanks.  (((((hugs)))))

I posted elsewhere a moment ago that I have made an appointment for October to see my psychiatrist, and start the whole merry go round again.  If I can.   :?

What I want is for the UK guidelines for the treatment of ptsd to be followed in my case.  Five years after diagnosis, I think it is about time.   :(
