That is fantastic news October! I am so glad for you both. It sounds so nice that home Ed group. How does it work? I am very interested in that, so if you get any time would you be able to give me more info on that?
Thanks for the offer on the Maths, Cadbury. I may take you up on that one!! Lol!! And I am certainly much happier when I see C smile, Brigid.

The group is a pilot scheme, where the child is registered with a school, but works at home. This is a relatively common situation in the US, but practically unknown in the UK. So I am very fortunate to live where I do (for a change!!!) Someone told me of the US version recently, and then within days I found a similar UK one!!
Because the child is registered as a home schooled pupil, the school can then provide all the learning materials needed to do GCSEs, and it also pays for a tutor for each subject, who then runs tutorials once a fortnight per subject. The children work through the courses at home, then take work to the tutorial to be marked, and to discuss the next phase.
Subjects offered so far include Eng Lang, Eng Lit, Maths and Advanced Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Art and some others I have forgotten. C is interested in History as well, so they are going to include that for her next year. Learning materials are provided (although you can buy more books to supplement these), as are exam entries, and the place to take exams (the school) Science subjects are taught in science labs after normal school hours. (As is some Art, such as a screen printing session scheduled for early November.)
I intend to take C to Engish and Art until Christmas, and perhaps add Maths from January. But maybe not. Then she can start on her fulll GCSE curriculum from next September, by which time we should both be well used to this. And a lot of the other parents share lifts and such, so there would not be so much waiting around or driving.
It is really strange to drive C there, knowing how close to nervous breakdown I am at present, and set all that aside for an afternoon, and become a 'normal' parent again. Waiting for a child in a classroom, and sitting in the sunshine, and feeling as if the world is beginning to make sense once more. Hearing C talk about the teacher who laughs when the children laughs, and who does not shout at them. Asking her how she rates the lesson, and hearing her say ten out of ten. She was tired, and it was a real challenge for her, but she enjoyed it!!
