rate according to helpfulness

I entered this quagmire after finding a wonderful description of the narcissist in my life.  However, most of the posts have little to offer re. helpful information (lots of venting-which is cool, but sheesh!).  We are obviously all messed up for being in a relationship like this, but these posts take me back to 1998, when I first ignored his "unique" opinions.  If I was still asking these questions & talking about such, I'd be worse than I am now.  I want OUT of this.  How do I find help?
