Life Changing Events
« on: May 30, 2006, 12:58:29 AM »
Hello all,
I just wanted to respond to those of you who have written to me in PM to inquire regarding my whereabouts.  I have been away for some months and want to share with you some of what has been going on with me.  I am not dead and I have not moved on to a happier place.

I started on this board in the summer when I was consumed with my relationship problems and other issues.  Since then, my mother, whom I love dearly, suffered a massive stroke and is now severely brain damaged.  This event has forever changed me.  These last few months have been spent trying desperately to bring my mother home and to care for her.   the issues I faced before have now paled in comparison and I find myself more focused and committed than ever.

For those of you who noticed my absence, thank you.  I will try to keep in touch with you all through the board in the future.

CeeMee

Dear CeeMee,
I'm one of those...I've missed you and worried. For good reason, it seems. I am so terribly sorry about your mother, that is a tremendous blow. I hope you can manage some caregiving for yourself too.
I have a good deal of experience with caregiving...it is a very very hard task.

On top of your grief and concern, you've probably added I don't know how many new chores and heavy responsibilities to your life...when you can, what sort of helper setup is there? I hope you're not wrestling with this alone.

Wishing you strength, and missing your voice.
Thanks so much for coming back to give us an update...please come here for support when you can.

Love

((((CeeMee))))

I'm glad you're ok... and thanks for posting about what is happening in your life.  I have been worried about you.

You are such a good person and I know you will give your Mum the best possible care... I just hope you give yourself as much care and attention too and I hope you manage to keep your depression at bay.

You take care hon... and please do keep us updated but more than that, remember we are here if you ever need to post about anything, be it relationships, or what is happening with your Mum.

Love H&H xx

I'm sorry to hear that.

It is difficult caring for someone, so hope you come back for support when you need it.

the issues I faced before have now paled in comparison and I find myself more focused and committed than ever.

that's so positive, your mother is lucky to have such a devoted child.

Take care of you too.

Oh Ceemee!  I'm so sorry!  Such terrible news!!  Thankyou for thinking of others and taking the time to  update us on what's going on.......these are life changing events in your life.  It's gotta be a very difficult time for you.  But it won't last forever.

(((((((((((((((((Ceemee))))))))))))))))))

I hope you're taking care of you too.  Eat your spinach.  Get rest.  Distract yourself from your troubles....for a little relief, now and then?  Does any of this help?  I hope so.

Take care, Ceemee.  Sending you as much positive energy, love, prayers, chicken broth, chocolate, bubble bath, gripping novel, worry beads, everything......
