Mushrooms anyone ?
« on: September 13, 2006, 06:41:33 AM »
I just gotta share this email exchange with a longtime friend recently.

Started with me replying to a "long time no hear, how are you ?" type email, to which this reply came:

A mushroom!, well done! I personally have an affinity with these people they are the best for “unfogging “ your brain... next best thing to a Buddhist Monk, as these individuals are hard to access unless you walk long distances in comfortable footwear and bring offerings, … in other words bloody marvellous!

I didn't quite get it, so replied:

ok, I think I got it :).... Mushrooms are people who are so damn closed & fucked up that they do & say such dumb shit that you really think deeper & harder & more than you've ever thought before in ways you never even thought of thinking  ! ?
Anyway, yep have learnt heaps about myself with said mushroom if I got it right. hmmm, lots of kinds of mushrooms... button, champignon, oyster, portobello, shitake, porcini.... :)

To which comes back:

Pleased to hear that you are a fan of mushrooms, K and I have developed an appetite for these fungi, we don’t really care how they come as long as they do, we dont mind a bit of chilli, garlic and ginger with them either,  as stated previously, they are just bloody marvellous.

I understand that they thrive on organic material and are patrial to darkness with minimal light but with a constant water supply as they don’t appreciate getting too dry (this apparently can be a self-destruction issue or even worse a wrinkle issue, the worst kind, of course.)

I believe that you mentioned shit in your last email, and I do recollect that shit is the whole reason for the mushrooms existence,.(such as,  wallowing in it, growing in it, thinking and communicating it, as well as believing in it but worst of all,  thinking that it has a pleasant odour, if presented in the right way)

Anyway we devour them all with relish.

I think its a GREAT term

Hi 2bbetter :)

I have different experiences of mushrooms.

There’s the term ‘mushroom management’ which is a management technique practised in the UK (employers keep employees in the dark and feed them on shit).

I have great respect for the Psilocybe Semilanceata http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychedelic_mushroom maybe due to the ‘intellectual’ effects noted in that piece including “Dissolution of imprinted and conditioned thought patterns”  :o Legal status is interesting. Canada looks cool 8)

Take care! :D

Moon......a most ridiculous idea indeed eh. Hey. Truth or dare? Both :D I admit to: lying face down on the grass on a sunny day and hugging the earth aged about 18. And I felt as though I was hugging The Earth. I feel embarrassed to admit it.  But the feeling I had at that moment was I guess like ecstacy in the true sense. i belonged and I loved. That simple. Oh I feel close to tears <promptly releases tears and thinks 'interesting'....>. How odd! I belonged and I loved... I might have to examine the emotional impact of that phrase...yah. Close to the bones.

thank you (((((Moon)))) and er   ......   ((((((((((((((((((((((((((EARTH))))))))))))))))))))))))
