Tricky... Will it Work???
« on: January 18, 2007, 12:08:24 AM »
I just sent my mother a link to a personality disorder test and told her I had tested for OC (I was a bit high :)) REALLY curious to see if she'll take it or tell me the results. I also sent her another test that tells what kind of leader you would be so it didn't seem I was trying to get her to take it.
Have you guys ever done this??????

Hi Beth,

I think she'll take it but according to how much an N she is, she will answer all the questions incorrectly, thus proving she is not an N. Or if she is like my Nmom, even if the results shows that she has a personality disorder, she will tell you something else.

My Nmom still will not admit that her behaviour is destructive to her relationships.

Very clever Beth, very clever.  I would love to try those tests.  Will you share the sites?

I suspect Liberrty is right - I think testing an N is like asking a racist if they are a racist - the usual answer is, "No" followed by a racial slur. - GS

Izzy,
Great minds think alike. That is exactly the site I was talking about. I realized after I wrote this I should have sent you all the link. She wrote me a letter responding to a regular email, but not about that one yet. Maybe I will ask her later and see if she took it. She takes the IQ ones and such... I just know, seeing the test, that she will answer that she relates to special people and must wear her jewelry and such. She is proud of those things... But I think you are right, Lib, she probably won't tell me the truth about results. You know, with all we have discussed here, and knowing that Ns lie, it is not until recently that I have caught her lying. It is little stuff, but I never recognized it before. A few weeks ago I went to the gamesite that we are both on and saw she was playing in a room. The room was full, so I waited until it opened and went in. She said she had just gotten there. The day before that, she had been asking me if my husband and I were having problems, so I think she was trying to lay low, knowing that she had been trying to cause problems. Speaking of which, I think she wants us to have problems to cause one of your so named WORLD EVENTS. That didn't cross my mind until I read your post.
Love to all of you ((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))

Guys,

XN read a lot of Sam Vs literature on NPD and agreed that this was what he was.  Shortly afterwards he decided that really his problem was that he was possessed by an evil spirit who made himi do bad things.  lTo be honest even if Frued, Alice Millar etc came back and diagnoised XN he would accept their diagnosis at the time, leave the office and off he would go on his merry way to abuse again.  No matter what they dont change.  Xn had a number of insights into his behaviour which he discussed with me, foolishly I thought his "awareness! meant that he would do something.......forget it, back to old routine as soon as conversation was ended.

They know what they are doing and they just dont care

It's worse than indifference. They [abusing Ns] enjoy causing pain, because to them it is a form of power, and to them all power is good, as long as THEY have it.

Storm,

I agree its all about power and control and if this means hurting others well that does not matter.  Does a table hurt when you kick it... NO well that is the paradigm that the N is using
