One positive thing I would note is that it is very good that the kids felt comfortable to come and tell you about this and saw that you acted as a mature and concerned adult should. I pray that the system will take care of them so that they will see the world as being just. This is a hard age for them to go through this... my kids are the same age and very inquisitive. Keep doing what you can to help them through this!
