Today is a new day.
« on: March 06, 2007, 06:40:01 AM »
Hi friends!!!! Today I will feel good. I will say nice things to everybody. I will not suffer for what other people do. Today I will have a positive attitude. So, help me God. If I change my thoughts I will change my feelings and as a consequence my behavior. I will be positive. I will feel well.
I love you all.

Thanks Lupita!!! I will try to do the same too. I have been far more negative than usual lately... towards myself. And that is not helping me with anything.

((((((((((((((Good morning to all of you)))))))))))))

Bedtime for me.

I started doing this over the weekend.  I decided I would not give my mom the power ten dictate my self esteem.  No matter how mean and ugly she gets is no reflection on me.  It is she with the problem and I rebuke her!  I went and bought a bunch of new clothes all with bright colors-and normally I wear black.  It is all about moving forward and feeling good about me!  I am worthy to feel good about me despite the sarcasm and spite!

Thanks!  Something snapped inside of me and I said to myself, "No one has the power to destroy my self esteem if I do not let them!"  So beautiful bright clothes and a new nurturing outlook and a refusal to take stuff that does not belong to me!

Specific colors have different effects (list copied from Biopulse.org)
Black: self-confidence, power, strength
Blue: calming, lowers blood pressure, decreases respiration
Green: soothing, relaxing mentally as well as physically, helps those suffering from depression, anxiety, nervousness
Violet: suppresses appetite, provides a peaceful environment, good for migraines
Pink: used in diet therapy as an appetite suppressant, relaxes muscles, relieves tension, soothing
Yellow: energizes, relieves depression, improves memory, stimulates appetite
Orange: energizes, stimulates appetite and digestive system
Red: stimulates brain wave activity, increases heart rate, respirations and blood pressure.....

OMG!!  My kitchen is yellow!!!!!!!  No wonder I am eating more. I need to change it to Violet.

Wow thanks Deb,

Never seen anything like this before! I also want to decorate my bedroom and keep having thoughts of Lilac .... which would be a soft creamy variation of Violet maybe??   Lavender color and Blue color are my favorites.

Never suffered from headaches ........ but could do with "suppresses appetite" !! .... and a peaceful environment sounds bliss  :)

Good ideas everyone!

We have had an unusually harsh winter in my area, so I declared spring at my house last weekend, bought myself a cream skirt (both the skirt and the cream are unusual for me) and dug out my tanks tops and sandals.  I just cruise around the house feeling a little lighter in spirit, and turn the heat up a notch or two!  As far as I am concerned, it IS beautiful outside!  That's my story and I am stickiing to it! :D

I like it.  I am excited to have lost a few pounds while plugging away at my treadmill since the New Year doing a marathon distance each week.  Not to brag but, I just heard someone I consider to be wise and interesting say regarding self confidence:   (Paraphrasing)

You have to believe in yourself and your  own word to yourself before you can stand up and stand tall.  One way to do that is to commit to yourself you will do something physical each day to improve your health and don't break your word to yourself!  Even if it is just walk around your block or down your street, or get a makeover and maintain it.  The point is:  Your soul has to believe YOU!  It is the beginnings of self empowerment and self-respect which will start to be evident in your world if you can just do one tiny thing each day.  It's not the thing you do as much as it is that you do it!

---------Caroline Myss---Self Esteem (audio program)

Finally seeing the fruits of not letting myself down over and over again.  I have been able to begin to stand tall, believe in myself and stand up for myself with my NH with my self respect intact.  Don't know what it is, but I am going with it!

Thanks Lupita for the positive post!

Namaste,

Sunny

Your welcome Leah,

I love the color lavender. I like everything lavender.  The color is really relaxing and makes me feel comfy.  I have lavender in my yard too.  Smells so nice in the summer.  I also use lavender oil that my sister whips up for my burns, cuts, wrist, on my bed, in my bath water.  I guess I'm just a lavender freak. Oh and my sister makes cake with lavender in it. Oh boy is that good.

Love
Deb

Deb,

I use lavendar all the time! Isn't it awesome?  My kids won't let me bandage them until I get out the lavender and other misc. essential oils.  They are funny.   :P

Never tried it in cakes, though.  HMMMMM YUMMM!  Recipe?  I also LOVE the color--always been my favorite and my birthstone as well :)

Namaste,

Sunny

Hey Sunny,

I will get the recipe from my sister tonight if she's up to it. She's having a problem with her eyes so I don't know if she'll be up to it tonight but I promise I will get it for you and for me. Now I'm hungry. It must be my yellow kitchen making me talk like this.

Oh wow!!!!! It has been so helpful to read all these posts!!! decorating rooms, using energizing colors, rejecting negative comments, it is renovating!!! I praise the Lord for being here.
Love to you all, God bless you!!!!!
By the way, third quarter is going to end. Kids are extremely restless. I had a not very good day. Of six classes, four behaved wonderfuly. Two behaved not as good. Of those two, there was one that had three students who refused to quit talking during a test. I had to call parents. One students told me " My mom is not going to believe you". So I called mom and she said that she would take care of it. So, let us see tomorrow how much he will disrupt. I pray for my classes. I pray for you. I pray for my son. God bless us. We need it.
Grat, why are you feeling negative? We love you. Everybody likes you. What can we do for you? Maybe we can invent some sentences that we can say everyday before we start our activities. We will pray for you. Grat.
I had a difficult day at work, but I am feeling well. So, God is helping. maybe the fact that I came here and wrote it helped me too. Thank you everyone.
Love,
Lupita
