The biggest problem with a person "thinking" things into existence, is that, he deifies his own ability.  Now, if you are humanist, that will be peachy with you.  If you are Buddhist or Hindu, it might fly too...but, for myself, being a follower of Yahuwshu`a (Jesus), I prefer to confess and possess ONLY in accordance to God's will...not by my selfish whims and desires.

I don't believe that only Christians know the true will of G_d though Laura- in fact the way many Christians carry on, ignoring the most basic of the teachings of Jesus, I wonder if they have tuned into the spirit at all...

I have said before- if G_d called me to be a Hindu or Muslim ( as clearly others are ) then that is what I would have to be.

Some people believe religion is 'magical thinking', and maybe in the way it is practised maybe it is, but I do believe there is something in this spirit which shows up time and again throughout history and different cultures- represented in different ways but outlining an ideal being whose love and guidance influences the way we live.

I've never believed in karma any more than the golden rule though- I don't think if you're hit by a tsunami it's something 'earned' because it's not something we are responsible for nor is it good or bad except the way it feels- it just is.

Great topic, really makes me think.

I've got a book somewhere about the history of 'god' to humans- I'll look it out tonight.

(((((everybody)))))

Nothing to say except that I'm getting so much out of what everyone is adding to the mix. Thanks for the links and for the thought processes... I'm glad this was a topic that interested folks.

I agree wholeheartedly with you Write, and truly, I wonder too.

But then, a person can walk into a car repair workshop (garage), but, that does not make the person a car mechanic ....

Likewise,

.... a person can walk into a church service, but, that does not make the person a christian.

One would think that someone who professes to be so repentent for his transgressions (my exh), having returned to church, and, having been forgiven by the person he wronged (me)

.... would want to put things right, for my health and wellbeing, as a christian mother of his son.

But, he says no, and that he will stand to lose his job, if he openly puts his wrongdoing right, as no-one knows.

He spoke with me yesterday and told me to go to the doctor after the holiday, as my pain sound serious.

I have not been able to do much, after Wednesday's events ....... yesterday I had awful pains in my left arm and could not move it much and felt funny in bed, and, very very cold.  Feel a bit better this evening.

Back to this topic, it is one that interests me very much, and, I will post tomorrow.

Leah, you should see a doctor if you can; those symptoms are alarming and suggest a very high degree of stress.

Leah,

Get thee to a doctor, pronto.
Nothing good ever comes from ignoring warning signs.
As always it may be nothing. It is those few times it is something that matter and we seldom know the difference.

((((( Stormy )))))) and (((((( Mud ))))))

Thank you so much for your kindness and concern.

I feel suitably nagged into going to the Doctor's (which is a good thing, as I advise everyone else to go, but don't do it myself  :) )

So I will make an appointment early tomorrow morning, Wednesday, when the practice re-opens after the Easter holiday.

Bless you both.

Leah, I didn't have time this morning to post more than a word - but when you see the doc, please describe your symptoms - the pain, the coldness - and give the context - not just the abusive jerk next door [although you should tell about that, and about filing a police report] - but also the complete emotional exhaustion, and near-complete physical exhaustion, you are experiencing right now. The doc needs to know just how long you have been stressed and how profound the stress has been.
