Izzy,

Damn Izzy you left home at 17 went to work and came home to help clean?  When did you get to be a teenager?
I couldn't of imagined myself being on my own at 17.  I would of starved to death and had no place to live due to the fact I would of spent all my money on clothes.  I would of come home for food and some money.  You were a good daughter. You were very mature.

Love

Hi Deb
I guess I was still a teenager as I still had braces on my teeth and paid for them myself, because now I was earning money.

Parents wouldn't pay for University for a girl. They saved  for my younger brother----------then he went to the Police Academy------

I even saved them the price of a wedding, as well---- oh what a nice girl I was!

Izzy,
You deserved a full scholarship to the School of Life, but
you've been working your way through.

I admire you a lot.

Thank you Hops,

I appreciate that!

Izzy

Edit: I just cannot believe that my life is based on a true story.
I wonder if there is a book somewhere? the name? Then I could read it and know how it ends.

Yes, inside me. No one else would have made my choices.

I worked as a waitress the summer after Grade 13, and had $225.00 to go to Toronto. $125.00 was for a comptometer couse and $100.00 was to live on for the 10-12 week course.

I whipped through it in 7½ weeks, but was so low on funds I asked the instructor if I could get a job without my certificate--she said she would rather see me have my certificate and even said she would lend me money to see me through (She  liked me)

I mananged in my own and reached the time of the test, took it on a Thurs. passed, went for an interview the instructor arranged on Fri, was hired and started on Monday, with $5.00 left for TTC transportation, & I was paid on Fri

I was hired but there was no place for me. They wanted me and I 'floated' for 1 week, then a girl turned in her resignation and I had a spot.

Confounded

I just want to thank you for your post about your family get together with an N in your midst. It reminded me of one with my family, where my husband (whom I have been advised has N tendencies) had no interest at all in our family's collection of slides from when my siblings and I were kids.  I could not understand why he wasn't paying rapt attention to the slide show about his wife's family.  Now that I know a little bit about what goes on inside these N-type minds, I realize that it wasn't about him, so who cares?  Thanks again. I'm just learning, and I appreciate all the help I can get piecing this together.
