I’d be less worried about finally getting an honest (though painful) answer from her than I would about getting a response that brings my newly found understanding of the world to its knees. You know what I mean?

I know exactly what you mean, Wildflower -- it's happened to me many times before. I'm definitely not planning to launch into any discussions with her without doing a lot more thinking and preparing myself. I'm also going to have to think about what her mental deterioration means -- like whether I can hope to have any useful interaction at all with her on these issues.

Your method of coping with unresolved memories sounds good, and I'm going to try it when I can set aside a chunk of time. Many thanks. :)  :)
