Speaking of fleas... one year my yard was infested with them bc of the wild cat problem in the hood.

I kept carrying them in when I went outside.... I had a baby and a toddler being eaten alive.... me too.

I would bomb then they would come back over and over and all that poison with babies in the house!

I called the bug man, who I had a contract with, they sent the manager.

He told me they were mite bites and to mop my floors daily!

I had to catch fleas and taped them to my front door for him to take to analyze <tic>

After all that, turned out they were cat fleas and he went out and found the problem and sprayed, finally.

After telling me my flea bites weren't flea bites!  I was so ticked off!

I TOLD HIM I THOUGHT I HAD FLEAS IN THE YARD AND TO SPRAY THEM WHEN HE FIRST ARRIVED!

He wouldn't even entertain the idea: /

I hate it when I let people make me doubt my reality.  Doctors, bug men, husbands and sibs... board members: /

lol... sorry Deb... didn't mean to rouse up such a disgustin memory. Don't spose you want me to tell my humongous-flying-ant story then... :D   Apparently the little house we were renting was built atop a nest/ant-condo-complex of monumental proportions...
okay, now I got the chills... lol.

Lighter, I finally had to gobble that fudgy down and mop up the keyboard here. It was for medicinal purposes, you see... a sort of turbo-charge of cold, to prep for goin out in the heat of the yard. Heat index must be at least 110 and my posies were weepin... poor thangs.
Soaked everything good, refilled the bird feeder, greased the one feeder pole with vaseline..

did I mention I dislike squirrels??

Well, I don't. Except they're fun to watch slide down the pole as they're tryin to make their way up to the feeder atop, to steal all the birdseed. Hey, when you live rural, gotta make yer own entertainment  :D

And Lighter, I can relate to your flea-story... we've had a veritable zoo through the years...  not to mention chiggers, which are like fleas to the 20th power....  and OH, can I ever relate to this:

" hate it when I let people make me doubt my reality.  Doctors, bug men, husbands and sibs... board members "

It has taken me years to overcome the shyness/gullibility/avoidance combo under which I was crippled... to the point where now I don't just swallow the "expert" opinion whole, but actually can and do question it. Too many expert opinions simply don't make sense... 'specially when the so-called expert is N !!!!   Sometimes I still take the bait, but can usually spit out the hook in time. Every bit of progress counts!

Love,
Hope

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I just hated to walk under the trees-- go get an apple, to swing--and end up with one or ten in my hair

The scourge was when our whole County was infested.

I just finished the salads--one hour--washed my hands-cleaned the mayo from under my nails, filed them and now what?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it's just going on 4: 00 p.m. and Y&R is just finishing--it got me through the chopping and dicing --even the final mixing and my frig is full.

I didn't find any caterpillars in my lettuce!

Hope.... hate the professionals that expect you to swallow their advice/instructions whole.... even when you know better.  Esp the baby doc's that won't listen.

I finally got to the point where I'll stand my ground and get that referral or stop them from shoving pink meds in child's mouth that I KNOW will come back out.  They have to take my word for it now.  ::shrug::  No one knows my children better than I do.

Izzy..... sounds like everythings under control.....

No catepillars in salad....

You betcha, Mom!  We had a wonderful, trusted pediatric ear/nose/throat doc, years ago, who warned me off all that pink stuff docs love to prescribe for kids (amoxicillin). That man was ahead of his time... he knew how resistant the "bugs" were gettin to penicillin and its varients. I've stuck by that bit of info through 3 more children and resisted antibiotics for the simple stuff, very rarely resorting to it when absolutely necessary.

Izzy... you are right on schedule and mayo-free nails, to boot!  Yay  :D

Love that bookworm... looks alot like me, actually... 'cept I have more hair     8)

Oh I was so creeped out about fleas and then chiggers?  What's a chigger?  That I ran out to buy  more frontline because I'm paranoid now.
Picked up a box of Frontline plus and read the front

FRONTLINE

Kills fleas, flea eggs, ticks AND Chewing Lice!!!

WHAT!!!

Chewing Lice?????   is that like chiggers?   It was bad enough when those moth things grew as big as MOTH MAN.  But now chiggers and chewing lice.  OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyyyyy Goddddddddddd.
But the names do seem kind of appropriate for when I'm talking about N's.  You know what chewing lice did to me?   Let me tell you about that Chigger I married.

I should be back posting about my nightmares tommorrow.

I'm about ready to shave my animals Bald now.

What about when you go out and your feeling like your looking good and really earthy natural looking and someone says

You feel alright? You look pale and like your getting sick.  And you say Well I'm feeling a little sick when you feel FINE!!

Just as a point re Ns

Did you ever tell your N about anything you didn't like, then get it in spades?

or tell the N what you DO like and then never get it?

They know

I figured it out and never again said what I liked and didn't

I'm pretty sure I just stared in disbelief..... as it was my husband who said it to me in public during my second pregnancy.  He was probably screwing people who worked there...... and didn't want them to see me looking bad  bc it would reflect poorly on him@@

Poor sick pig, had to say goodbye.

Dear Lighter,
I have to say that the above quote EPITOMIZES my life.
With this in mind I would like to add my list---about my Mother(of course)-
Told that I need to fix myself up. Then, when I did fix myself up, being told,'Why do you spend so much time on your appearance?
Being told not to be afraid of her  German Shepherd and then the dog ( who was untrained and she would not admit it) almost took a chunk out of my Husbands leg. The dog later bit someone and was given away
My H build a house that is his prize possession. She says, "Me--- I could live in a hut. This place is conspicuous consumption"
                                                                                             Love  Ami

I do not like waiting in line at Target or anywhere else.  I do not like adults that treat my kids poorly-I was not protected so I always protect mine.  I really do not like my mom.  I do not like my h when he is drunk-in fact I hate mean drunks-happy drunks are ok sometimes.
