Dear Write,

Sounds so restful :)

No palms here, but we have a crapemyrtle. Deep pink.
I'd never seen one before. Picked one up at a nursery shortly after moving here and planted it just at the back of the house, out my "office" window here. I expected it would grow bushy, more like an azalea... haha - I got a surprise!
The birds love it, though... and I enjoy the blossoms as they last a good, long while and really brighten up the view.
So I sit here in the mornings, generally... and watch the activity in that 8' tall "bush"   lol

I can picture you with a little waterfall on your balcony... one of those with mini ledges and a small collection of stones in the small pool.
Had one once... put blue food coloring into the water just to spice it up :) very pretty and relaxing.

Thank you for keeping the news coming!

Love,
Hope

Thank you for keeping the news coming!

Thanks Ch for reading!

I think my news is going to get better hereon, we've rounded a corner and I'm back to being myself, not entirely, but more than in years.

I'll look for a little waterfall thingy.
No blue food colouring though! I draw a line there  :)

Crepe Myrtles are asian trees, very exotic like so much in Houston, surprisingly!

Hi Write,
Here's how to make one. Find a pottery or glass bowl you like. Buy an aquarium pump at a fish store. Lay the pump in the bowl and pile rocks you like around just to the tip of the tube. Screen the cord going under the rocks and up over the edge of the bowl with a larger rock sticking up. Fill with water and plug in. Add an air plant for greenery...

iT'S FUN.

((((((Write))))))

I think I'm gonna pull an Izzy and not talk NPD anymore. Waterfalls are much more satisfying... even when they're not blue  :)

((((((Hops)))))))

... just because.

Thanks, ((((((Hope)))))))  :)

I got my rocks out of a beautiful stream in the mountains.
I put some nylon mesh crumpled up around the pump first, forgot to say.
It takes up space and gives the pump room to gurgle.

Then it's all covered with rocks.

I made one in a little red bowl once with shiny hematite pebbles,
with a little dinky pump from a craft store. It was a Valentine gift for a
...(sigh, you can gueNbfss). But it was nice!

sounds lovely. Do you still have one? Or maybe you could make another?

I'll make it as a gift for ME!

It was nice, just right for a desk.

I do have one I made for my D that she wasn't interested in...it's in a pottery bowl I made myself, with rocks from some of my favorite places.

I am really looking forward to moving, I've taken to driving past the new place at night.
It's opposite a park where I often walk the dog.
You can go down to the creek behind there and see tortoises and sometimes snakes.

My friend I met at the gym lives close by too.

Pottery, another of your talents  :D
