BLEH!
« on: November 03, 2007, 04:53:40 PM »
Ami, help!
I got Doc S's SuperFood and for the recipe (1 c. juice, 1 c. water, 1/2 c. fruit + 2 tbsps stuff) -- I used Light Cranberry juice, 1/2 banana...and it tasted awful. Any suggestions? Has to be superfast and easy...(I have froz. blueberries)...I've got 2 huge bottles of the stuff and I do need energy help. Been really really tired lately.

hugs

Oh Hops--if  you think that great tasting stuff is 'bleh""--you must not be aquainted with many natural products. You must be a natural  health virgin.
This is the best way to take it-----orange juice.   Get back to me               Love   Ami

Hops,

I wouldn't have put the banana in with anything that has sharp berries like cranberries in it - the tastes don't mix!!!

I think I'd water the plants with the first batch, and start again!

You are right. A good smoothie would be apple juice, strawberries and a banana. Superfood goes the best with orange juice or carrot juice(if you like carrot juice)
Hops,  you could make an O.J, strawberries and banana one with Superfood ,too                          Ami

Great! Thank you.
I love carrot juice and OJ too.

I'll make it with one of those and a banana.

Or even just go the veggie juice way, I'm sure it would blend in with V-8.

Hmmm. Don't have any OJ so tomorrow a.m. it'll be V8.

I bet OJ is good because it's so tangy and sweet it would overpour the algae taste.

Blueberries are prolly same as cranberries, not such a good mix.

I am not giving it up!

Dear Hops,
Tomato juice does not sound good to me (or my S,who takes it ,too). He agreed that orange is the best. If you really want to have good energy, get a juicer(vegetable juicer) and juice raw fruits and vegetables. If you are interested,I will tell you more.
For right now, Superfood is a great start. I am really happy for you that you are doing this.  If you want to go on the next step in his program, let me know and we can go there.                 Love   Ami

Hi Ami,
Well, it actually went down pretty well this a.m., mixed with V8. I just kept stirring. It was an amazing color, sort of like the sort of thing you imagine a young whale having in his sippy-cup at the bottom of the sea...a marine-y dark brown but with glints of green and red, and shiny in that gelatinous way of seaweed. Most excellent, aesthetically speaking anyway. Actually, it doesn't taste GOOD yet, but it was not awful, and I drank it right down and followed up with my first strong cup of Constant Comment, so before I began to feel too whaley, it had begun its work and I was back in my Constant comfort zone.

As to juicing, I have a Vita-Mix. I need to get industrial ear protectors if I use it again because I have tinnitus and daren't add damage. A Vita-Mix is the sort of blender you could feed an old picnic table and wind up with excellent sawdust.

Keeping it very very simple and remembering I am a lazy broad who is emphatically not a morning person, dear, I would be very grateful to receive the next step in my New Health Instructions. Thank you!

Wouldn't mind inspirations from anybody who's inspired, either! Bear in mind I don't cook, I beep, I barely shop and I am an follower of the Slow Food Movement, which means I am so slow that if it's complicated it never gets made.

xxoo

Dear Hops,
I have a Vita Mixer ,but have never really used it.
Well, the easiest would be O,J and Superfood. Dr Schultz has Intestinal No 1. This is really good. You should get some of his literature. Did any come with your Superfood.?
If not, he wrote a great book that describes his whole program."There are no incurable Diseases". It is a wonderful book. I cured Henrietta, my 13 yr old Standard Poodle of Addisons disease  a few years ago.I used this book as a guide.
After Henrietta got cured, my H (an MD)never, ever hassled me about Dr Schutz again. My H even brags about how I cured Henrietta with nutrition.
If you want to take your energy to the next level, you could get a juicer at Wal mart--just a Juiceman Jr. to start--if you want a cheap one. Then just juice any fruits or veggies. I make delicious ones like grape juice, cuke and apple, zuchini and apple, mango, strawberry and apple, carrot and apple etc.
This could be a meal replacement and you would have great energy. The other big thing to having good energy is to eat as many raw foods as you can. I eat mostly raw foods and I feel really good.
Those are a few ideas. Most everything (along these lines) that I learned,I learned from Dr Schultz      Love   Ami

Dear Hops,
There is another thing which is really good for energy and wonderful for stress. It is raw, organic maca
powder. You can get it on line .I can't remember the site ,now.
However,it is unbelievable for stress. If you are worn out from stress, in a few minutes after taking it,you feel great. I mix it with apple juice. Everything else is pretty bad tasting with it.
Just a thought while you are on a roll. However,if you could only do one thing---it is Superfood --by far.

Cool. Thanks, Ami!
I am quite excited.
I DID feel better today.
I think it's also because I slept for a change, but maybe it was also because today was Day 2 of Superfood??

I'll Google maca powder. Sounds GOOD.

Now which of these things are recommended for motivation as to clearning up room and restarting an exercise program?

 :D
