Happy Birthday, Sunblue !
« on: December 15, 2007, 07:34:55 AM »

I hope this is OK with you.  I wanted to post these wishes on your very own birthday thread.  I don't know how to do any graphics, just know I'm imagining a special cake with three candles for three wishes.

Hi Sunblue,

Here's wishing you a very Happy Birthday.  I hope that whatever you do to celebrate, it will add a happy memory deep inside your heart.  One that you can bring out from time to time and enjoy all over again.

Love,

Sunblue,

Can you please give yourself a small gift today?
And come tell us about it?

(Not involving money. Just a... gift.
Maybe something about nature?)

Something that brings you happiness?
A homemade birdfeeder at your window?

love,

Happy Birthday to ME
Happy Birthday to ME
Happy Birthday to Sunblue
Wished by my friends at Voicelessness!!!

WOW!  WOW!  WOW!  You all brought a tear to my eye, but as the song goes, "It's my (birthday) party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to...."

Really and truly, you made my day.  So, so, so thoughtful for you all to wish me a happy birthday and to post a separate thread!  I felt like Message Board Royalty!

As I posted on my initial thread, it's not an easy time for me and certainly, my birthday was no exception.  It's hard not to think about what a failure I am---no job, no family, no friends.  Perhaps it is my N upbringing, but I've always identified myself with what I do and when I'm not working, well that leaves me feeling like nothing.

So yes, I was feeling quite sad and lonely and depressed today.  BUT, I took your advice and forced myself to do something just a little something.  Here is what I did.

I was feeling really bad, crying and hurting and what not.  So, Sunblue bundled herself up, got in the car and drove herself downtown.  Sunblue lives near a large city that hosts a well-known Chriskindle Market.  The snow was falling, the crowds were mulling and the multitude of lights were twinkling.  I walked around the Market browsing through the European shops, treated myself to a steaming cut of hot chocolate with whip cream and an order of "snowballs" (traditional Germal fried doughnuts with powdered sugar) and took photos of the life-size Nativity and Great Tree.  I purchased some homemade gingerbread for my niece and walked over to the city's famous shopping thoroughfare where I checked out the Nutcracker Christmas windows .  I drove past the ice rink in the city's main park and headed home amidst the snowfall.

It took my mind off of things for a little while, which was good.  And when I saw your posts, it really lifted my spirits.

It really meant a lot.  I felt a little less alone today, so thank you very much.

Bright, bright blessings to all of you.  THank you for taking the time to wish Sunblue a Happy Birthday.  It warmed Sun's heart..:)))

Thanks!

SUNBLUE :D

What a healthy decision, Sun! You gave yourself a gift.

What would happen in your life if you did that in some real way every day? Looked for beauty, happiness, and something to help you connect with nature, even snow?

Oh Sunblue,

What a lovely day.  So glad you went along to the Chriskindle Market as was then able to share.

All of which sounds and * feels * so wonderful, truly.
