anyone seen this one?

That husband started out very narcissistic but ended up psychopathic.  His mother's response when she saw bruises on "Slim" was so Nish..."awww I'm sorry honey.  What did you do?"  ( in other words, how did you make him mad enough to hit you? )

Yes, and these 'types' of abusers are in a class of their own.  They are as bad as it gets.  Personality Disordered.  They are sociopaths.  All 'abusers' aren't as bad as in those movies.
But those movies are excellent teachers.

I really FEEL for women in these situations.  They need help and $$$ to get out.

There is too much of this going on.

I think Sleeping With The Enemy shows what many of these situations are really like.  It was extreme, but in a way they are all on that continuum. These types are so scary and violent.
and powerful.

God don't ever let yourself get isolated like that.

We have to watch out for our friends' when it comes to these things.  Some of us have trained eyes, having lived thru it.  It is so SAD. oh yeah and Maddening.

Hey Firey, I like what you said for two reasons

Quote
God don't ever let yourself get isolated like that.

First of all, I read it like you were telling GOD not to ever let Himself get isolated like that.  I had to smile, cause GOD has such sense to not even "go it alone" since He felt the need to create mankind...and

You spoke to something that really IS important.  People, the way abusers succeed a lot of the time, IS by isolating their victims.  N's are so good at this, as are borderlines and full narcissists and psychopaths.  It is a tool that even works in cults and brainwashing situations.  Pull a person out of their comfort zone, entirely, out of their "element" and you pretty much HAVE them.
