I learned something tonight from "ED TV"
« on: January 08, 2008, 12:11:14 AM »
Tonight I watched a movie with my girls and husband, called ED TV.  The gist of it was, a tv station filmed a month's worth of the days of a guy named Ed.  This was great at first...who wouldn't want lots of money and fame?

The problems came, when things were caught on film that really were personal to him.  His breakup with his girlfriend, after the cameras showed him stealing her from his own brother...his relationship with his estranged bio dad, who later died, but Ed thought it was his step dad that died from his mother having sex with him...turns out she was involved with the ex husband while being married to the new one....poor Ed was kept behind a gate, watching his own dad's funeral at a distance, because people didn't want to be on camera with Ed.

What this told me was the IMPORTANCE OF ANONYMITY!  I think I have a whole different view on that now, and will be pondering more on it as time goes on, and learning to respect those privacy boundaries with others even more.

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks Laura.Sometimes, you can learn important lessons through a TV show. Didn't Reality TV break up another family, too.? I think that I remember when Reality TV first came out, it broke up one of the first familes who were filmed.Lord, camera's in the house(lol)!
